Year of the flower

My works this year have been made with joy, a little bit of child-like wonder and lots of delight. I pushed past my previous reservations around colour combinations and learned a lot of things on the way.

Is it summer yet?

Named after my obsessive light chasing at the end of winter, this collection of artworks has been named after my once a year tradition of ‘chasing the light’. Bright blooms emerge from dark as night backgrounds, colourful patterns abound and my usual joyous foray into colour remains at play.

Further inspired by patterning, wallpaper and borders, I have pushed these elements further into my work to create elements of framing, background pattern and more....

A brave attempt

Born out of a 'brave attempt' to paint and work more loosely, this collection of paintings charmingly feature washy backgrounds, visible pencil marks from the initial sketch and texture from the addition of coloured pencil marks.
